Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born in Thal in Austria. Both his parents were traditional police officers while his wife formerly Aurelia Jadrny (1922 to 1998). Gustav, his father was a disciplinarian that was more in support of his two elderly sons while Arnold maintains close relationship with his mother until she was no more. After the death of Gustav in 1992, Schwarzenegger was unable to attend his burial for some reasons.
When Schwarzenegger was in boyhood, he was involved in various sporting activities out of which he became passionate about body building when he was about 15. He derived his motivation from the legend such as musclemen Reg Park Steve Reeves as well as Johnny Weissmuller from serene views. While he was participating in the mandatory one year military orientation in 1965 at the age 18, he escaped to finish his body weight competition and he came first in that amateur division of Mr. Europe. Although he served the punishment for his abscondment, yet he earns respect even from his supposed superiors. He travelled by plane for the first time to London in 1966 to feature in the NABBA Mr. Universe competition. There he was nicknamed “The Austrian Oak” for his massive build; he eventually won Mr. Universe as the youngest in history.
In 1968 September, Schwarzenegger relocated to the United States of America with language barrier and financial constraints but began training at Gold’s Gym situated in Santa Monica under the leadership of Joe Weider. He released his autobiography title: “Arnold: The Education of a Bodybuilder” in 1977. Same year he launched “Milk is for babies” documentary concerning bodybuilder which brought him a worldwide recognition. In 1979, he bagged a B.A degree in International Marketing of Fitness and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-superior.
Schwarzenegger got married to a TV journalist Mara Shriver in 1986 while the marriage produced 2 daughters and 2 sons.
When Schwarzenegger was just 22 years old, he had already become a millionaire prior to his venturing into Hollywood. In company of his colleague in body building, Franco Columbus began bricklaying business in 1968. The business was tremendous successful for the increasing demand after Los Angelus witness earthquake in 1971 coupled with their strategic marketing. Again, Schwarzenegger and his business partner diverted the gains from their bricklaying business to begin a mail order business, sales of bodybuilding fitness related instruments and instructional tapes. On his own, Schwarzenegger used the profits from the mail order business and his bodybuilding competition bonus to his first real estate business. In addition, he was the brain behind “Celebrity Investor” in the planet Hollywood group of International theme restaurants jointly owned by Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Demi Moore. Schwarzenegger however put out of the business in the year 2000.
Schwarzenegger had abandon body building career to enter into acting long ago. He had participated in very many films such as Hercules, Robert Altman’s The long Goodbye in 1973. Stay Hungary in 1976. This very movie earned him a Golden Globe for the Best New male Star and many more.
